Riddle of the sphinx ii pc download

There are plenty of reasons. The designers spent years researching ancient Egyptian myths, customs, and the way of life—and it shows. Never has ancient Egypt come to life in such painstaking detail as you will see in this game.

Many puzzles are even based on actual traps and puzzles used by ancient Egyptians to deter tomb raiders. One of the best aspects of Riddle of the Sphinx is the nonlinear gameplay. You will truly feel as if you are discovering and sifting through clues in the same way a research scientist would. As your backpack is filled with highly unusual items, not all of which are critical for success, you might realize that the joy of this game is not just in getting the answer to the riddle, but in having fun digging around along the way.

A key to sticking with the game is to solve the initial puzzles quickly, otherwise boredom can be a factor. You must find two very important numbers, a combination and a password. Using all of the items and objects available in this first setting sorry, no spoilers given here , you must determine the proper numbers and letters to gain access to the first big piece of the riddle.

While not intuitively apparent, all the pieces are there and it's simply a matter of logical thinking and using what's available with one step leading to the next. Getting inside the Giza Pyramid is the second big challenge and, once again, simply pushing it open by hand won't work. You gain entrance by manipulating a robot through a small corridor, while utilizing high tech equipment found on a desk -- not only is it fun but it's much like playing a video game inside the video game.

Overall, it's a game worth playing. Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by mrvampire from awesome it was a really good game and it was also long. Rated 5 out of 5 by powderedtoastgrl from Great sequel Great sequel to Riddle of the Sphinx, another wonderful game. The adventure continues and it's a worthwhile one! Rated 4 out of 5 by azace42 from Tough! This is a tough game - but all is learnable but certainly NOT intuitive.

The scrolls are keys to much - but it's hard to figure out what the scroll means or contains. My big complaint is that there is a LOT of stuff you accumulate that is totally unnecessary. Double skulls, extra scrolls that are meaningless, inventory tools only needed once that won't go away, and NOTHING that tells which skull is needed or not until the skull is absolutely needed and you don't have the RIGHT one.

Combined with books and instructions that are visible but NOT savable, yet critical to many puzzles. Add the fact that you can "take a picture" of what you see - but it is NOT the full document, page, etc. WAY too much time wasted going back and forth unnessarily.

The only puzzle that is totally irrational is the mixing of powders to make the last disc. This is the only puzzle I was not able to get done without the walkthrough. On the positive side, the graphics are great, the gameplay is even and smooth, and I never had any of the strange tech errors others reported. Rated 2 out of 5 by acousticwarrior from Excruciating Replayed this game recently and it's even more boring and tedious than I remember it as a kid.
